Promising italian junior, Greta Riccardi, got hit by truck on her way to school.
Greta Riccardi, who competes for the Biella Rhythmic School in the italian Serie A2, got hit by truck on her way to school this morning in Pavia, Italy. While she was walking with her bike on a crosswalk a truck didn't manage to stop and hit her. She was transported to the San Matteo Hospital and underwent surgery were at first her right foot was in danger of amputation.
Antonella Chiesa, her coach, said "she has been released late in the afternoon from the operating room and is now in intensive care". The great news is that Greta's life isn't in danger but she needs more surgeries to reconstruct her right foot, so she will transfered to Niguarda Hospital in Milan.
The rhythmic gymnastics family is praying and sending good vibes to her and her family, and wishing for a succssful recovery that allows her to return to the sport she loves.
Here is Greta competing in the Serie A2 with clubs.
