Salome Pazhava was awarded an Olympic Scholarship in her road to Tokyo 2020.
Salome Pazhava from Georgia was awarded an Olympic Scholarship. This is great news for Salome since her federation struggles with funding and now she will be able to have everything for her to succeed in the years leading to the Tokyo Olympic Games.
With this scholarship she will have access to:
- adequate training facilities
- specialized coach in her discipline
- regular medical and scientific assistance
- accident and illness insurance
- board and lodging costs and travel to Olympic qualification competitions
Salome Pazhava, who didn't have the olympic experience she and the fans wanted after sustaining a foot injury during Rio qualifications, which lead to multiple mistakes in the qualification round and thus placing 14th and missing the All-Around finals. To then injure her arm during the preparation for the 2017 season, but then manage to be "ready" for the Kazan World Cup Challenge and World Championships. It's obvious that Salome will benefit greately from this scholarship.
